Pinnix Named Branch Manager for Cardno TBE Jacksonville Office

August 08, 2011, Jacksonville/Clearwater, FL—Cardno TBE is pleased to announce that Kenneth M. Pinnix has joined the firm as Branch Manager in the Jacksonville, Florida, office. Mr. Pinnix has extensive experience in brownfields redevelopment, municipal consulting, economic development, community outreach, and management/coordination.

In his role at Cardno TBE, Mr. Pinnix will be responsible for Project Management, Client Services, and Business Development in the Northeast Florida area.

Most recently, Mr. Pinnix was manager, historic preservation & administration in the Community Planning Division for the City of Jacksonville, Florida, where he served as facilitator/leader of the Brownfields Coalition and was instrumental in the Brownfields program’s recognition as one of 10 EPA’s national Environmental Justice Showcase Communities.

Previous to that role, Mr. Pinnix worked for the the City of Jacksonville Planning and Development Department for 10 years where he served as Chief of the Community Development Division and Neighborhoods Department. An accomplished scientist and researcher, Mr. Pinnix has more than 20 years of experience with research and consulting.

He holds a BS in zoology from North Carolina A&T State University and an MS in biology from North Carolina Central University, and he completed various graduate training courses at Duke University.

Mr. Pinnix is president and chairman of the Florida Community Development Association; board member of the Florida Brownfields Association; vice president and past president of 100 Black Men of Jacksonville, Inc.; and member of the National Community Development Association. He is a former board member of The Florida Theatre, Community Connections, Inc. and the Dean’s Leadership Circle, and former member of The Thomas G. Carpenter Library, University of North Florida; Otis Smith Youth Foundation and Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Northeast Florida.
